Juliet Powell

Juliet Powell Choice TherapyHello, I’m Juliet.

Back in 2011 I qualified as a psychotherapeutic counsellor at Leeds Trinity University – since then I have supported people with anxiety and depression and many other issues. I love working with parents and facing the challenges with them and supporting them. At times I felt I wanted to reach more people and used all my experiences to run support groups, workshops and training. I now love running health & wellbeing events all around Yorkshire. Bringing choices and wellbeing to many more people.

My children are the reason I trained to be a counsellor, our journey together, the feelings, emotions, difficulties of being a parent to two (adopted) children and everything associated with that steered me towards a career supporting others, I left a teaching career and retrained. When my children arrived I felt isolated, like I was the only one struggling and the only one feeling like I did with the issues I had.

I reached out for help from a lot of different sources, I needed support and help to get me through a very difficult period of my life. I built myself a ‘support package’ to get me through, people and professionals I saw regularly and still return to now, at times.

After I finished my counselling diploma, I set up my own therapy business. I loved working for myself and the flexibility that offered, but at times I found it tough. I didn’t want to give up and made sure I invested in looking after myself and my business.

Those experiences lead me to support you with making choices about how to take care of you and your loved ones.
